About this SSL checker

What it does. This tool checks the public information a browser looks at for any domain you type in: the DNS records, whether the plain HTTP address redirects to the secure HTTPS address, and whether the SSL certificate is valid and matches the domain name. Everything it does is read-only — it looks, and it never changes anything on the website.

Who it is for. Anyone who owns a website or is about to work on one and wants a plain-English answer to "is my SSL set up correctly?" No technical background is needed.

When to use it. Run a check before you request a certificate, after you install one, when someone reports a browser warning or a "Not Secure" message, or when you take over a site and don't know what state it's in.

How it works. Type just the domain name — no https://, no paths, no passwords. The checker looks up the same public facts a browser checks when it loads a page, and shows you the result. Nothing is installed, and you never log in to anything.

What it does not do. It cannot log in to your hosting account, fix anything, request a certificate, or see private information like passwords, account keys, or certificate private keys.
